PCAPI Attends Preparatory Meeting to Strengthen Partnerships for the 2026 International Coastal Clean-Up

On August 4, 2026, the Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) took a leading role in convening a high-level preparatory meeting in advance of the International Coastal Clean Up scheduled for September 12, 2026. The meeting gathered representatives from PCAPI’s key members as well as partner organizations, including Philippine Prosperity Chemicals, Inc., Mabuhay Vinyl Corporation, Legaspi Import and Export Corporation, and Samahan sa Pilipinas ng mga Industriyang Kimika (SPIK), underscoring PCAPI’s commitment to fostering environmental stewardship through strong industry collaboration.

PCAPI was represented at the meeting by its Vice President for External Affairs, Mr. Jeremiah Dwight Sebastian, alongside Engr. Norman Giovanni Guevarra, Engr. Jel Mark Esteban, and Ms. Christine Vidallo from the PCAPI Secretariat. Their active participation highlighted PCAPI’s pivotal role in coordinating efforts and promoting environmental best practices among stakeholder groups involved in the clean-up initiative.

Presiding over the session was Engr. Gretchen F. Enarle, Director of the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee, who emphasized the critical importance of PCAPI’s leadership and multi-sectoral partnerships in addressing coastal pollution challenges. Discussions during the meeting centered on comprehensive planning aspects such as logistics, volunteer engagement, waste management protocols, safety measures, and strategies to elevate public awareness and participation.

This preparatory meeting reaffirmed PCAPI’s dedication to advancing sustainable environmental programs and its leadership in driving collaborative actions to protect the Philippines’ coastal ecosystems. With PCAPI spearheading these efforts, the International Coastal Clean Up 2026 is set to achieve meaningful and lasting impact for communities and the environment nationwide.
