Consultation Workshop on Best Available Control Technologies (BACT) for the Policy Review and Update on Stationary Sources Mass Emission Rate Standards (MERS)

Pollution Control Assoc. of the Phils., Inc. (PCAPI) National represented by Engr. Emmanuel Altarejos (Treasurer) attended the Consultation Workshop on Best Available Control Technologies (BACT) for the Policy Review and Update on Stationary Sources Mass Emission Rate Standards (MERS) on May 31, 2019 held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ortigas Pasig. It was organized by the DENR-EMB and Clean Air Asia. The DENR-EMB was represented by Engr. Diosdado Doctor and Engr. Jundy del Socorro from Air Quality Management Section.
The consultation workshop aims to bring together key industry associations, groups, private companies, and other stakeholders from private and other government and non-government organizations. We discussed cost implication of the purchase installation, operation and maintenance of Best Available Control Technologies (BACT) to reduce emission in different industry sections. It was discussed also the possible economic costs related to the revision of Mass Emission Rate Standards (MERS) for stationary sources.
By participating in that event , PCAPI National can relay to its members the latest update on the formulation of the mass emission rate standards in relation to their compliance of the source emission standards of the Clean Air Act. Industries can contribute in the success of the event by providing DENR-EMB particularly Air Quality Management Section their latest Best Available Control Technology in reducing source emissions. They can also provide DENR-EMB their latest emission inventory to expedite their policy review and formulation of the mass emission rate standards.
