A RENEWAL OF LEADERSHIP: Highlights from the 2024 Induction Ceremony of Officers and Trustees of PCAPI National

The Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) – National marking a new chapter of leadership of the organization through its 2024 Induction Ceremony of Officers and Trustees last July 31 at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City. Filled with the presence of the board of trustees (incoming and outgoing), advisers and distinguished guests to witness and celebrate this annual occasion to give thanks to the outgoing officers who have dedicated their time and effort to the continuous success of the association.
The ceremony began with a prayer led by one of the advisers of the association, Engr. Benjamin Gregorio followed by a video presentation of the Philippine National Anthem and association’s hymn. As we embark to the main event, a heartfelt welcome message was delivered by the former Vice-President for Chapter Development and now elected Vice-President for Internal Affairs of the association, Ms. Luzviminda Angeles and has set the mood with her words of encouragement and positivity as she acknowledges the presence of the guests and colleagues who have attended the event.
The event even became more impactful as it was graced by the Inducting Officer as introduced by the now elected Vice President for Chapter Development, Engr. Remedios C. Camo. Our Inducting Officer is coming from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) – Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Chief of Environmental Quality Management Division (EQMD), Mr. Geri-Geronimo R. Sañez through his inspiring message. Mr. Sañez has been a consistent trusted partner of the association in achieving common goals for the environment and sustainability through courses of the activities led by the association such as to various Technical Sessions and National Conventions. It has been a privileged for the association to have Mr. Sañez to represent DENR – EMB and conduct the induction of its officers and trustees, marking this significant milestone.
Engr. Susan Benitez, one of the Advisers of the association, introduced and conveyed a message to the outgoing officers and trustees during the ceremony. And to give appreciation to the outgoing officers and trustees, each member has been given recognition through a Plaque of Appreciation for their invaluable contributions, support and dedication towards the association over their past term. Former Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) Engr. Rafael V. Dimal Jr. and former Vice-President for Internal Affairs Engr. Gretchen Fontejon-Enarle imparted their messages reflecting their journey and expressing gratitude to the team for its unwavering support and fellowship. Engr. Fontejon-Enarle who also served as President for the past years will now be part of the Advisers of the association.
The incoming officers were then introduced also by Engr. Benitez. Each officer and trustee were called in front of and handed over to them their Oath of Office. In this significant moment of commitment, each officer and trustee took their oaths led by the Inducting Officer as they pledge and emphasized their dedication in upholding the organization’s values, serving its members and strive for excellence in their roles. An oath signifies their promise to lead the organization with integrity, transparency and shared vision for the future.
Engr. Shirlyn Chua-Reyes as the re-elected President addressed her acceptance message as she continues her presidency this year. Engr. Chua-Reyes spoke of the initiatives, strategies and collaborative efforts needed for the continuous growth and success of the association. It was met with enthusiasm and support by other officers and trustees as a sign of a promising future for the new coming term.
As the event came to close, recognition of this year’s Service Awardee/s was initiated by the Awards Committee Chairman, Engr. Fernando “Nanding” Ramos. Engr. Benjamin Gregorio, one of the advisers of the association, was given a plaque of appreciation to pay tribute to his excellent 25 years of service rendered. It was then awarded by Engr. Shirlyn Chua-Reyes (President), Engr. Susan Benitez (Adviser), and the awards committee chairman, Engr. Fernando “Nanding” Ramos.
The event concluded with the closing message by the re-elected Vice President for External Affairs, Mr. Jeremiah Dwight Sebastian. Mr. Sebastian once again acknowledged the presence of the guests and co-officers and trustees who attended the event. He also congratulated and encouraged everyone inducted for their respected positions, driven by shared commitments, dedication and excellence towards the continuous growth and success of the association.
