The Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PCAPI) National met with DENR ASEC Rico Salazar and ARD Dr. Eva Ocfemia last October 07, 2019 to discuss the work plan for the rehabilitation of the Estero de Marala, a water body adopted by PCAPI through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed last July 23, 2019.

 

The MOA features a 3-year partnership that includes advocacy, awareness and education of regulators / implementers coming from LGU Barangay and residents within the vicinity of the adopted body of water on solid waste, wastewater and hazardous waste management, support for clean-up activities, introduction of interventions (physical/biological/ chemical/vegetative) and incentivizing efforts made on water body quality and compliance to solid waste management.

A courtesy visit to the LGU and site assessment will be conducted by PCAPI National, DENR- EMB and LGU on October 29, 2019 as initial activity for the project followed by an onsite awareness seminar on solid, water and hazardous waste management will be done on November 07, 2019.
