Strengthening Digital Implementation of RA 11898: Philippine EPR Portal Preview and Early Access Pilot on Its Fourth Anniversary

In line with the fourth anniversary of Republic Act 11898 (RA 11898), a pivotal session was held to introduce stakeholders to the Philippine Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal and to pilot its User Account Creation Module. This event not only updated participants on the portal’s progress but also served as a platform to assess the achievements in EPR implementation and to discuss forthcoming enhancements in its digital framework.

The opening remarks were delivered by Atty. Michael Drake P. Matias, Director of the Environmental Management Bureau, who stressed that effective EPR management is a continuous process that depends heavily on collaboration among various stakeholders. His message emphasized the necessity of united efforts to realize sustainable waste management objectives.

Key insights were shared by Mr. Rolando Enoc, Senior Environmental Management Specialist, who outlined both the current development status of the EPR Portal and the strategic plans moving forward. Contributions from GIZ and Simplevia Technologies followed, highlighting the innovative technological solutions designed to streamline user access and bolster compliance oversight.
